Try leaving one piece of the key inside the door lock and use the other half to unlock. I tried it once with mine when it broke, but I used it on the ignition lock. Later I just changed ignition lock and key

^ this. if the key is in the door lock, use something else (screwdriver?) to turn the lock.

Pull the windshield out.....remove lockstrip, pull it with suction-cups, crawl inside.

This is my only suggestion. It's really not all that hard to R+R an e30 non-M windscreen.

If it hasn't been "super locked", you can break in pretty easy. When I say "super locked", I mean that the key has NOT been turned all the way horizontal to unlock the car. Use a screwdriver to pry the top corner of your door open (make sure to put a cloth behind it to save the paint). Then take one of those plastic box traps that come on pallets or heavy boxes and fold it in half. Get the loop around the door handle and just pull the handle to open the door.

If it has been "super locked" i don't think you will be able to open the car from the inside, so break out one of the tail lights so you can get into the trunk. Then remove all of the trim around the trunk lock and play with it until the trunk is open. From there you may be able to hook up a good battery and actuate the lock system. If not, cut out the ski pass and crawl into the car. Then take off the door card and pull apart the lock mechanism.

I've done the box strap a few times on my cars, and busted out a tail light on a pick-n-pull car once so i could get into the trunk. Good luck!

thats actually a really good idea.

you could always drop a wrecking ball on the roof. that would probably work too.

You, sir, must be a fake. You were supposed to say an acorn, two matches and some bubble gum :D

But in all seriousness, I once locked and shut my pass. door with the keys inside. I realized that when the door was shutting and it caught the not-shut-but-hooked position. So I wanted to do what you're suggesting. Even with the half inch gap, it was not easy. Car doors on new cars are flimsy as hell and you cen bend the top corner out pretty easy. This is probably the most used way for thieves, second to breaking the glass. The e30 door (atleast on a coupe) is VERY strong and you will screw something up imo (if it matters).

You can probably turn the door lock using a screw driver like others have said.

Or you can bring your title to a BMW dealer and they will have a new key made for you based on the VIN. I had to do it when I broke my key in the door. I think it was around $50 and IIRC they had to have it shipped from Germany lol.

                          1. Break a window with hammer because driftbeater.

                          2. Replace broken windown (only the one you broke) with sweet race car window net.

                          3. Gain 17 U.S. quarts of street cred.

This has got to be the most obvious answer, dont know why it took so long. That is assuming the locks have no been changed, op?

Anyways if you are really desperate you could saw off the roof and C pillar and have yourself a nice flexy vert. The flex will help at the famous hot wheels nurenberg.
