I've always wondered if that was actually other people or the yard / tow-truck guys.Comment

Ever been to upullit? tons of BMW, Mercedes, Audi, hell even a handful of Swedish Volvos. I just got Ti rear 5 lug from the south yard for $70.
or
Lakeside usually has a few 90s+ ones. Papio Creek or whatever is South of the south upullit always has a variety of euro, hell there was a euro early model e24 there once, had real recaros and all.
it's not that bad here...

Our Pick n Save had 2 BMWs. TWO. an e32 750iL and an e36 328i.
That's it. There were more Rovers (3) than BMWs.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

News to me. Since you sound like a junk yard vulture is there any early models without rust I'm try to restore my car but I need good panels.Comment

Yeah I remember gathering Model A parts back in the 30's and people would remove stuff, categorize and label it as they set is asideComment

Here, where I live, halfway between Seattle and Portland, there are more BMWs at my house than there are at yards...I bet it is even worse in Omaha!Comment

there was one with stupid clean quarters.
this car caught on fire and was sent to yard
but it was scrapped last week along with the 2 other e30s in the yard. be patient. e30s pop up quite often. there are two m52s, an m30 and m20b25 though.... i see you were thinking about engine swap, there ya go. ~$230 for an engine IIRC

Don't you just love when your looking for that one wiring harness...
You finally find it....
then its cut.
On a side note everyone out here being animals and throwing shit all over; Ive managed to find things I needed just because someone else uninstalled it and did the dirty work. Doesn't always happen but hey junkyard gods work in funny ways.Comment

Was at the wreckers yesterday on the only E30 they had, and you shoulda heard some of these guys a few cars down kicking door panels and shit, yellin about something and being a bunch of whiny bitches for being middle aged dudes. I just kept pluggin away as they were banging on some Hyundai but still. I've watched so many people smash windows, smash mirrors off, etc.
Happily the only parts I ever need are from gm's (where theres a million of the same car) and e30's (where if there is one there its usually freshly dropped or fully picked over lol)Comment

you guys have some crazy ass pick n pulls. The parts thrown in the car are from the workers who go around and clean up a bit. That's why you see a lot of random parts in the trunk. If someone is on a car and they are on the other side I just start at what I want on the other side. It's a free for all. Met some guy and his kid last time taking the drive shaft and I just directed them on what to do while I took the ECU out.
What I hate is when someone asks me to barrow a tool, it's fucking pick n pull bring your shit loser."I wanna see da boat movie"
