Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts guys. Also I'm looking into all the advice I'm getting. Insurance adjusters are coming Tuesday to begin the reimbursement process on their end.

Very sorry to see this happen after all the work Nd love you put into your car. I understand that it is more then just a car. I'm sure they will total it but he can buy it back from the insurance company. That would be the best thing to do seeing what you have into it. Strip off all that's good then get a little extra cash for scrap metal with the left overs.

Where the fuck is the high way patrol when you need it! there's always at least 1 cop creeping on 880.

Good luck with the claim and dont settle until your satisfied. Hopefully you find another e30 to put in some parts from this car.

Funny thing is was that even though pieces of my car were scattered all over the place and my car was clearly damaged, 5 CHP blew by, not one of them stopping to check things out.

I just cant believe Im going to have to part the car out, or at least strip her down and put things into storage... Hasn't sunk in yet.

So any insight on if this should be comprehensive as there was moving debris on the highway. Ill sleep a little better once I get more info on how insurance works in this situation. My insurance adjuster does not sound like a very caring person either. She was very short on the phone and seemed to be in no hurry to come speak with me and inspect the vehicle.

By the way, I had my 1991 318iS taken away from me when a drunk driver collided into it while it was parked in my driveway. Really bad luck with white e30s i guess...

Ya, Im pretty sure that the car was airborne for a brief second. Rebounding off the skid plate from chunks of metal about the time the cable wrapped up the wheels. Im guessing thats how my wheel got so bent up, from the landing? Not sure how else it would have such an extreme flat spot in it. ..

That was a really weird wreck. Remember that a really high end E30 costs a lot less than one day in the hospital.

Dude thats some straight bs, cant believe your 318 was hit by some drunk idiot! in both situations you were pretty much helpless and that's what i have nightmares about.

I want to get another e30 but one that i can abuse and not have to worry about stuff like this happening even tho i will worry lol.

Ya, I often worried about a day like this coming with how bay area traffic gets and people not focusing on the road.
Im down to just my 1991 318i 4 door, but its supposed to be going back to the original owner soon, he offered to buy it back a few months ago. I just can bear the thought of being without an e30, but im not feeling ready to start fresh just yet either.
