    Just wanna say shifting @ 4-5K >> shifting @ 3K

I normally shift at 3K in my daily driving (mostly city), but this weekend I was just driving around some open roads and decided to let it rip. I knew that the powerband was mostly at the 4-5K in my M20i engine, but doing this constantly really awakens the car's soul. Turn off the radio, open the windows, and just listen to the engine roar. THIS is why I bought my E30.

We'll see how much this costs me in terms of gas. :(

Congratulations, however, I'm sorry it took you any time to realize that it is more fun to drive like that.

haha thats what I was thinkin. I go to 6k all the time. You should hear it at 6k when the exhaust dumps out the cat with no muffler or anything.

When cops are in my presence, I'm upshifting at 2.5K.....fucking Stromung starts to make a lot of noise above that. If the coast is clear, I wind it out.....especially getting on the freeway. Around 6500.

Hell, try no cat and only a pair of resonators. Then get back to me on loud.

I usually shift at 3k or below for daily also. I usually try to drive between 1500-2500. It really wakes up at 5000+ it just uses more gas when I dont need to be burning it. My engine isnt probably as rev happy as an M42 but it is still a fun one.
                          Im now E30less.

I have this resonance at about 3500rpm that makes me really have to shit. I should probably fix that before I get a 4.10. :)

I love the sound of the valves floating at 7100 in my M20. it sounds so nice when it is screaming like that. Its alot like gambling-- waiting for it to explode. I chickened out and put the stock chip back in so i could do this!!!

also just as nice to let it bounce off the rev. limiter on the autobahns in 5th with the 4,10 diff!!! for a good 5 mile stretch. I love to abuse it!
