definitely not big into NASCAR but that's pretty cool. looks like the original chassis was pretty damn rusty anyway.
my uncle had a 1969 Chevelle that was really cherry. he shouldn't have ever touched that car though - it had a brand new candy red paint job, which for whatever reason he decided he didn't like so he stripped it off and painted it primer red. then he gutted the interior and took out all the trim and seats. finally, it sat rotting for probably 15 years until he had the sense to sell it to somebody else who could fix it up. -
How difficult is it to get a heavily modified car like this registered in the us? Article makes it seem like it's heaps easier to do up here.1988 Atlantisblau Euro/Japanese 325i Cabriolet

If you live in California probably not easy. if it was WA and many other states it would be a piece of cake as long as you had the VIN/title to the Chevelle. they don't even look at your car when you register it. even if you lost the title, if you had the VIN you could recover it.
it's like when somebody "remodels" a house that they would never be able to get a permit to build new due to zoning restrictions, but the original structure is grandfathered in. knock down all but one tiny portion of the structure, build all new around it and it's legally the same house..Comment

Passing the safety inspection is where the problems would be, i guess1988 Atlantisblau Euro/Japanese 325i Cabriolet

Here you could reg it as an AQ and not have safety inspections at all.
As long as it has proper lighting, signaling, etc, you're fine. Just reg it under the Chevelle VIN, I mean, that is what the car is...easy.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

there's no safety inspections. all you need is a valid vin/title.Comment

I guess it's different here as whenever you get a car and have to newly register it under your name (i.e. title changes hands/names, whatever), if it's private sale you need an emissions test and safety inspection.Last edited by Sea Aych; 02-19-2014, 10:18 AM.1988 Atlantisblau Euro/Japanese 325i Cabriolet

The thread at C-C.com has been where I kept up with this build. Pretty awesome idea, and my favorite year Chevelle. It was my dream car back in HS. I'd still love one.Comment

Sometimes you will see street rods built on a tuber frame and a piece of the frame with a matching title will be welded to the frame in an easily visible area. everything from that little 6" sliver of frame is an addition to original. shit it could be a frame form a plymouth for all that matter.Looking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.

In my area as well that could be registered as the Chevelle but would never pass a safety inspection which is required every two years. Super cool, though. Looks badass and has to be a hoot to drive around in.For all things 24v, check out Markert Motorworks!Originally posted by mbonanniI hate modded emtree, I hate modded cawrz, I hate jdm, I hate swag, I hate stanceyolokids, I hate bags (on cars), I hate stuff that is slowz, I hate tires.
