East coast e30's or the lack of them.

Where the hell are all the e30's on the east coast I have a 1990 325i sedan that I was gonna sell and buy a manual (mines auto) but there is none on the east coast for sale and when the go for sale they sell quick so my question is why are there so much more on the west coast

Where are you looking? There are E30s all over the place here in FL.

The other day I saw 3 different E30s on my way home from work, a black 318is, a red 'vert, and a red 325es. Further, there are eleven currently for sale on my local craigslists, and I have four in my driveway/garage. On most Fridays there are 5+ E30s at the College Park meet.

So, maybe you need to leave RVA more often.

It looks like there are more members in rVa but no meets? I started a thread awhile ago in the regional forum about starting one.
I love that people ask stupid questions so I dont have.

They're here, but this forum in particular seems to have a lot of West coast members. There are tons of E30's on Craigslist in my area. The vast majority of them are just rust buckets that look like they were owned by Edward Scissorhands, and maintained by a pack of feral dogs who didn't bother purchasing a Bentley manual.

Also, either you find a car with decent wheels, and it has the fenders completely chewed up and rusted from fitment that's way too aggressive. Or, you find one on stock wheels, and you need to spend $1K to $2K on rims and tires.

Either you find one that has suspension, and the frame rails are rusted out from the undercoat being scraped off them, and the motor has been oil starved a few times from cracked pans. Or, you find one on completely blown original suspension and have to spend money replacing it.

These sort of quandaries extend themselves into every aspect of buying an E30 around here.

Craigslist is how I got both of mine and the 318is happened to be owned by a member, very clean and well taken care of, take your time and be patient one will pop up.

...my 318is may be up soon who knows!
