Looks like it's the end for the euro plate...

Well, I got a $108 ticket this morning for the euro plate on the way to work. The cop told me that if I put the state plate back on, and take a photo with me to court, they'll probably just throw it out. But while checking my registration and insurance, he noticed (I hadn't yet) that my insurance card was expired, so he got me for that too, $225. I just haven't put the new one in the car yet. He told me the same thing though, bring proof of insurance to court, and they'll probably toss it out.

Just a pain in the ass, really, because now I have to take it off. Oh well, I can always just put it back on for pics, and meets and stuff.

Should have done one of those deals where you integrate your State plate into your euro tag.

    Oh well.

Well, the thing I keep thinking is, if they're going to probably just throw out the plate charge, why even give me a ticket for it? I can understand the insurance thing, but why even pull me over and ticket me for the plate, if he told me how to get out of it?

Sucks to be you. Im in a state where they dont care and, starting 2007, you can conceal a gun.

You are still gonna have to pay court fees and deal with the hassle, that is their intended motivation.
        Im now E30less.

Fuck it, I'm just going to leave it on, and keep my state plate in my glovebox. I see a cop flip a bitch, and I'll just stick it up in the windshield, since it's allowed to be displayed there.

THATS a step in the right direction. Because ONLY gun enthusiasts carry guns. FUCK YEAH!

Eurospeed- Try living in Cali. Ive had numerous tickets for no-front-plate. The "hassle" of it is the point of the whole thing. They make it hard for you so that you just put the one that needs to be on there, on there. I actually have my Cali tags on my euro plate. "WCKED M3". That is not sufficient here. It needs to be a Cali plate, which makes sense, really. My ticket was about 300+ dollars because I let it expire and it turned into a warrant. This is in my stupid days, mind you. Just for a no-front-plate. There comes a day when you just say "fuck it" and stop wanting to give the pigs a chance to fuck with you. Hopefully, we all get there. Try getting a personalized plate that says your actual plate. That way, surely, in states that let that fly, you can be clean. ;)

I was actually planning on doing that, getting a new euro plate that reads what my Oregon plate says. I have the one I have now, because it's the same numbers/letters that were on my old one that I destroyed when I totalled my last E30.

It is possible for them to just throw out the fine for not providing proof of insurance, but it can still remain on your record... which is what happens most often in Portland.

Meh, I'm not too worried about it.

Yeah but I doubt the undesireables were thinking, "Well shit, I was going to rob and rape that bitch but since it was illegal to carry my gun I left it at home. I guess I'll go play backgammon instead."

Joshua Tree, just do the window plate thingy. That worked for a friend of mine for a long time on this personal plates. That is, until they decided we didnt need those in front either.
