    What'd you do with 3k?

I just amassed a small amount of cash and am trying to decide what to do with my car. looking for a fun, sporty car. I have a DD, but may switch. I don't want a ton of low since I live in an apartment with a dozen speed bumps and a city with a pothole problem. I will definitely track the car at least once just to see if I like it. (my co-workers drive 240sx's and I would like to show them how we do, and there is an s54 e30 at our local who is an inspiration). I do want a clean car out at least cleaner than it is.

bottom line? dunno. I get chills when I drive my car. more of that?

318is with a supersprint exhaust and a rebuilt head.

    exterior 6/10

    bottlecaps with new snow tires

    stud conversion

    4.10 lsd

it's not enough money to do everything but it's enough to have a hard time choosing where to start. so, tell me r3v, what would up do in my situation?

btw if you're selling anything you think I might need, let me know.

Ground control coilovers, 550/750 spring rates.
LSD if it doesn't have one.
    Wheels/grippy rubber.

    In that exact order.

I have no idea what your goals are here, but I would go with suspension first (sportier setup, then bushings, then alignment), then an engine refresh, then brakes and/or headlights.

I just do not get the switches, I think they look horribly out of place and do not see the plus. It seems to more of a waste to me. $ spent better else where IMO

depends on what you want. if I had 3k right now i would be buying:

koni shocks for front and rear
                h&r race springs
complete set of condor suspension bushings and motor mounts
                rotors/pads/rebuilt calipers
                SS lines
                new brake fluid
                e36 rack
                new tie rods/ball joints/wheel bearings
                and an LSD

                i think that's under 3k?

I loved my e36 switches. Just the feel made the car not feel from the 80s.

steering rack really that nice? seems like a hassle for a few less turns

my steering rack is on the way out, so yes, it's worth it for me.

steering rack changes the drive. Tighter more modern feel imo. Maybe consider a z3 short shifter also.

if you do go for wheels and tires might as well do the fc 4 pot brake upgrade
