I know this is incredibly trivial but I left a gas station in Seattle yesterday and drove east over the mountains. Didn't even notice I hadn't touched the brakes until I was driving over Snoqualime and I glanced up at the check panel. I managed to maintain the no brakes routine until someone cut me off in Yakima. Roughly 150 miles. I was curious if others had made a goal of not hitting the brakes at all?

What's the longest you've driven without touching the brakes?

I can't say for sure how long, but I always make an attempt to use the least amount of braking possible when driving. I drove a 3 hour shift down I-95 towards Florida but I am sure some fucker was going slow and it required me to use the brakes.

Probably 30 miles on my college run, both there and home.
I drove to Portland a few months ago and maybe 150 miles or something... It was a while though...

in my car, the check light in the dash and the check panel both work. i always tap my brake after i start the car so the annoying flashing will go away. there is no way i am going to drive 150 miles with that flashing light starring me in the face. with that said, my pickup has about a 600 mile range on a 34 gallon tank. i have burned the better part of that tank on long drives in the middle of the night with the cruise control set.sigpic

I bet I have the record for this.
Flew into Arkansas to meet my buddy who just returned from a deployment to Irag/Afghan. His E36 M3 had enjoyed an ice cold Arkansas winter while he was gone.
Hooning around his house/town, we didn't notice any issues.
Agter setting out on the road we realized his calipers would freeze on the rotors, causing a horrendous smell and terrible gas mileage.
We ended up driving over 1500 miles without touching the brake pedal. We felt so proud rolling onto base in San Diego.
First thing we did was have a beer, then replace/rebuild his brake system. My previous build (currently E30-less)

Sounds like something I would do. Brakes faulty, zero fucks given. "It's just the brakes. Let's do this!!!"
Bravo sir.
