I could have installed the strut bar a long time ago. I think it arrived like a month ago. However, it would require taking the hood off

haha: As soon as I posted the question, Kris answered. lol
TJ, my hood has been unbolted for like 3 months. It was off the hinge when the bar came.....

Greg, yep, Ridin off like when the sad music plays in sappy love movies. That is the trailer the guy whose doing my work owns. He bought it off a E36 M3 LTW driver when he sadly passed away. My dad thought it was a really nice trailer. My uncle borrows it occasionally, like last weekend when he was moving his 2002 project car. :D
Kris, thanks. :D So it just twists, no tools needed or anything. No locking? (I'm the 2nd owner of GC suspension, so I didn't know if I needed any tools.) I also don't know much about the spring rates. PO said they were stiff, really stiff. From the #'s I read off one spring and the pictures on Dave Adam's site, I believe the front are 300#. But I've only seen one spring, and never remember to call Ground Control when it's during the week before midnight.

Kris missed a step.
You need to loosen an allen bolt (dunno what size, I just use GC's tool) that holds the perch tight on the threaded collar. Then spin to adjust. Then tighten allen bolt again. You have to take off the wheels in the rear (unless you want to contort yourself or have a lift) but you don't in the front.
There is a step three.

how long has your car been dead? I couldn't stand having my car not working last year. waiting a month for parts to come from germany sucks :(
Died sometime in October. I would have gotten it done sooner only a few reasons. 1) Thought out of some crazy dream I could put a M50 in. So I wanted to save and prepare. 2) Winter isn't the best time for RWD. Especially without ABS (sensor bad, now being repalced) 3) I had a handy daily driver anyway, Mom just bought herself a new car, and because it wasn't being used, I took the old Buick. 4) I'm glad my BMW wasn't covered in snow/salt. It got nasty for a while. Maybe it wouldn't be as bad if I had 4x4 height on my E30. ;)
Granted, I really missed it. In the beginning it was bad, real bad. But in the middle, it got less noticable as the feeling wore off. Now, it's killing me because I can't wait!
Oh yeah, and reason #5 I didn't lose my mind: I work at the dealership, porting cars to the carwash and then putting them through the autowash. Getting to drive BMWs once a week kept me sane. Especially this weekend with three Z4 3.0L sticks, and the new M3, and my first M coupe. Of course, when it's warm the M roadster or Z4 with top down are so incredibly awesome. 8)
The good thing is, with the car parked I didn't spend too much on it. Well.....euro plate filler, sparco bar, JC chip......328 MAF and 19lb injectors for next year......spray paint for kidney/spoiler.......but I would have spent more if I was driving it. The best part is I have enough money to pay for the repair and buy all the parts/gaskets right now, so I won't go into debt.

With stock height, you go OVER the snow instead of THROUGH it.

Jesus man, when are you going to align the front bumper? I always thought something was odd from your sig, and now I looked at the bigger picture. I mean since it's in the shop it wouldnt be a bad thing to do.
Other than that, I can't wait to see it back on the road.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube
