I was shitfaced and I still don't get what's so funny about buying a new GTI? They ARE pretty nice cars. Definitely worth discussing.

It wasn't supposed to be all that funny, it's just that my parents are known to buy me cars, so I thought it'd be humorous to piss off a few people.

I would never get the GTI, so long as it's FWD. I'm seriously considering an R32 though, except my e30 keeps getting prettier, which means it's harder to let go of.

Faster shifts on a road car when were talking fractions of a second dont make up for the loss in driver feel and involvement, IMHO. Everyone cries about manuals in traffic. My shifting is so 2nd nature its not a ballbreaking task for me. Nice choice of car. ;)
