shit, sorry I didn't even read the original post.

As far as value is concerned there was a question about this in Roundel. Moding a e30 will not affect the value if the mods are desirable, such as adding ellipsoids or plastic bumpers or euroweaves. Basically the parts as a whole add more value overall. I would guess if the plastic bumpers were done properly, it would make the car more desirable as opposed to a cheap slap on. In the same argument, even if body panels are replaced, as long as the panels are from bmw, then no value is lost.

American cars are held to a different standard, where orginality is sought and mods decrease their value.

The market will bear or bull.

Asking price is usually more than sale price. Us R3V types want to buy at low ball prices. The general public will pay $6K for a nice, low mile, plastic bumpered convertible. Everything working, well maintained and garaged. Not a beater.

I have a '92 cab and have been offered 7800 for it with out trying.
The guy reall y wanted because of color, year, etc. It's dark blue, last year of the E30 body style, plastic matching bumbers, euro ellipsoids/smilies, "is" spoiler on trunk, basketweaves, shadowlined, yada, yada.

When you see something that's exactly what you're looking for your brain doesn't function properly!
            I'm not sellin her!8-)

The prices on these is so wide. Depends on to many variables but they can be found on average in the 4k figure and they were produced till 1/93 they were sold side by side with E36 cars on showroom floor.

The dark blue you are speaking of is very sharp. Mine is Lagunna Green and It was too common of a late model E30 softtop.

There is a nice 87 triple black 5 spd near by to me going for under 2.5k. Tempted to grab it and add late model stuff and sell it for profit with summer coming it will be a sharp car.

'93 was the last year, not '92.

I plan on pulling my rollbar and putting my '92 318ic on ebay soon, hoping for 6-7k. 65,xxx miles.

Just because the poor ass high school kids on the board wont pay 7 g's doesnt mean someone else wont. Ever look in the Roundel? Even Id like to laugh at some of the prices, but a mint condition 15 year old car is hard to come by, and will demand a fair price for it.
