from 1991? I doubt it.. I think they only have to if they were a safety recall. the major one on the M42 was the profile gasket but that ship probably sailed long ago.

Not specific, just was wondering if anything was never done if they still would, just trying to keep my e30 in tip top shape

Liability from part failure is long past causing BMW any fiscal issues. If they were going to recall something it wouldn't be 21 years later. It would have presented much sooner to cause a recall.

It's 20+ years old, I doubt they'd do anything.

They still warranty the heater core relief valve recall if it was never done.

A guy on here named rufflz looked up my vin and told me I still have a recall that was never done. Called my local bmw dealer and it is being fixed for free on Monday!

Yea the dealership asked me for the last 7 of the vin, confirmed the recall, ordered the parts and made the appointment! And they seemed happy to do it!

I know the shop manager by me so there should be no problems. they just built a new dealership and he took me on a tour, it's nice.

I was surprised how happy they seemed at my local shop. It's one of those places that if you are not a wealthy sob, you are just another face in the crowd.

the dealer shouldn't care, they're getting paid from BMW NA for the service...

I remember one of these at a dealer I worked at. Had to price out pretty much everything around it because it was so brittle.

I assume that stuff is done at customer expense, and only the recalled part and labor is covered?
