    GAH, still runs lean!

Ok guys, I got a new o2 sensor installed, and my AFR Guage is working.

It idles very lean, if I am coasting around and just blip the gas, right after im off the pedal I can see the LEDs run up to rich then back down to lean.

Sometimes, if I give it about 75% of the gas pedal, it will run back and fourth from rich to lean. WOT its just lean and at about 4-4500 RPMs the car just quits acclerating, I cant get usually past those RPMs

Once and a while though, it seems like everything works. WOT I can see it run up to rich and I can feel a big difference in performence.

So to break it down, it still runs like complete crap. Always lean except for a few times it will get normal. if I blip the gas pedal I can see it go rich, thats about it.

I looked at my injector rail, no gas is leaking, no codes are being thrown, nothing it just runs lean.

    What the hell gives??

You should post your setup for lazy people like me. If you're using motronic, then make sure your throttle switch is working right. Also, IIRC, your car is pretty modded and you shouldn't be trusting a narrowband sensor. Spend a few hundred and get yourself a new wbo2 sensor so you can find out exactly what your car is doing. If you're really hardcore, get some EGT sensors so you can tell if your ignition timing is in the right vicinity.

Sorry, my car is so awesome I thought everyone would know about it :)

      S52

      OBDI
      24#
      540 HFM

That covers the engine mods anyways.

Would codes be thrown if an injector wasnt working? Just thinking because those things were a bitch to get in, im pretty confident all of them are clipped in, just wanna make sure though

Also, I just read in my guage install sheet, that "if the guage appears to be moving sluggish the o2 sensor may be faulty and needs to be replaced"

Well joke is on them then, because my o2 is brand new.

Code will be set if an injector is not working, or at least if there is a wiring/connection issue with a bank. I think you just need more fuel pressure. Your running a 3.5 bar?

Yeah I was going to check that, just a total PITA to get the rear fuel line off by the FPR. Is it supposed to be 3.5 for a s52 with 24#? Whats that in PSI

Yeah...narrowbands are completely useless. Get on some rollers.

What software is running your setup?

There's about 14.5-14.6 psi per bar. So that makes around 51 psi.

The 24s may only be 24# at a certain pressure. But I dont know if M motors have much more than 3.5 bar for fpr. If your leaning out that much with 24s, then Id say get an adjustable aftermarket unit. I also wonder if its something with the hfm. Might have to get software to work with it. You ever try a stock one?

You might want to get custom software for your injectors and HFM, or get an AFPR and get on a dyno with A/F tuning. Narrowband A/F gauges are only for looks.

The Conforti chip I have is supposed to be for all my mods. Well this narrowband afr gauge has showed me that im running lean and its not getting fuel at WOT so its good enough for me :)

With a gauge like that, for all you know, it could be running rich.
