its funny on all the 325is i have ever seen, only one had the IS lip still intact, apart from pictures from r3v members.

            :pimp:

Seriously - know where that little parking curb is. Know how to profile into a driveway when need be.

Yea, we just moved into a house with a shitty driveway angle, I can't backout without ripping it off. Back to the 'i' lip for my 318.

Since when does every mod on the car have to be purely for functional gain?

Have you tried backing IN to the driveway? I cant pull in without problems, but backing in is a breeze. Same thing on exit - backing out will rip it off - going out nose first is doable.

W3rd. I'm constantly amazed at how many people don't think about different ways to get into/out of driveways once their car is lowered/kitted.

Try going in on an angle, or backing in... I've had some DAMN low cars (41mm from the sump to the tarmac on one) and I got them in and out of carparks by this method ;)

Forgot to mention my car is pretty low. 2.75" from oil pan to ground these days.

I think I'll put the lip back on and see how it works out. Maybe it isnt as bad as I first thought.

when i had a lip (it was an alpina one) i drove over it like 7 times, some paint chiped off from the gravel on the road once... then later some prick stole it at a parking lot.. ever since i'v been trying to find an is lip.

It's a small driveway, and it looks like (with the 3 e30's, 1 5er, 1 wagon, 1 van) we're gonna set it up in such a way that we all can line up and back out if necessary. If that requires removing the lip, throwing it in the trunk, and putting it on when I feel like it; that's alright with me. I'll get a pic of the driveway sometime

Pfft. Talk to me when you're on iS lip #7...they break.

They do make quite a difference at highway speeds, especially 100+. With how low my car is today (lip around 3.5" off the ground) I scrape it like once a week. Could care less.
