Well I took the car today to have the state inspection and smog check done. The dubmass tech drove my car right into their lift and scraped off most of the paint on the lip. lol

But I don't want her valence bending all up when she hits a curb or parking block ;) and that will eventually happen. why the doll pretty much ruined my cabbie's valence when she went past the parking block, wrapped the lip around the block, and tried to back up but ended up twisting the poor thing in a knot and tearing the sheet metal on one side! I had to drive around with one side almost dragging on the ground for a week before I said eff it and ripped the whole thing off (older, metal bumper style valence and trim).

Anyway, what do you guys suggest other than tossing it in the trunk at night and at the mall?
My wife refused to drive my cabby when I put the iS lip on it for fear she'd knock it off.

Really not much you can do but remove it in certain circumstances. I took mine off when the car had to be put on the roll back wrecker - if I hadn't, it would have sustained some more damage.

What do you expect? You can't drive sideways onto a lift. You should have taken the lip off beforehand.

That's what I do, all the time. Works like a charm.

minus my flat-spotted tires, and sometimes falling off, it works out ok.

              Seriously.

I expect them to notice that my car sits really low and check to see if it will clear.

if i had taken the lip off he would have just crashed my oilpan into the lift.

And then what? Exempt you for it being to low to not scrape?

I don't see how a floor jack could get you onto a lift, or how your oil pan would have hit if you didn't have a lip on (how did the lip prevent the oil pan from hitting??) but whatever.

I dont see why my car needs to be on a lift to check the brake pads.

They stopped when he crashed into the lip, backed it up and used a floorjack.
