The two chassis members that run forward to the bumper are definitely caved in as well, not as simple to fix (properly). Glad everyone was okay, hope you find that M20 you're looking for!

OP. next car you get. do the breaks+bleeding. and get better tires. you will be cut off a lot in the bay area. you will need to stop hard a lot due to the type of people that live here. make sure you photo copy all your receipts for work done on the car and get a quality appraisal, you will get 5k.

Damn man. Our cars look so similar it's shocking. I always imagined being totaled from the back from a tail gaiter though. Get a shark... It's what I would do!

I would have gotten out of the car and killed him. But that's just me.

Glad you're safe and go out and buy another! Insurance ftw.

Sucks dude, this is why I will no longer daily drive a car that I have thousands more into than the insurance would pay out on. Way too many shitty drivers out there and these things total out too easily. Fight with the insurance company for every last dollar, don't forget to figure in your time in all the work you've done to it.

In terms of receipts I ordered almost all my parts online so what counts as a receipt?

Sucks, but cars get wrecked. Glad you're not hurt; even a restored E30 M3 is still costs less than one day in the hospital. My son just got rear ended in my convertible, and it's going to be a total write-off even with very little visible damage just to the bumper. Your car is definitely totalled, IMHO do not consider trying to fix it. You would hate yourself once you got into it.

Nah I got a front clip for mine at the jy for 100 bucks. Less than a grand, same damage and she was back.

Depends on what and who you know. And how much you love her.

The car looks pretty totaled to me but I'll have to wait for insurance to check it our and tell me for sure

I think you can rest assured that the insurance company is going to total you out. I've seen it happen for a lot less damage than yours. It sucks, but don't worry, there are a lot of e30s out there...
