    Treehouse Racing

Are these guys still in business?

I placed an order a couple weeks ago for a set of e36 non offset fcabs. They haven't arrived, I've received no tracking info, and their number is disconnected. I emailed on the 15th requesting an update but have received no reply.

Dont really want to do a paypal charge back if its some sort of order error.

    Ideas?

That's the email I used. I guess I'll give him another couple days to respond. If I see nothing by Monday I'll send one last email stating my intent to file a claim.

You would think if someone is going out of business they would state it somewhere

Who would think that? Surely not a business owner. Business owners are trying to make money - especially if they're going out of business.

Just checked again. I ordered on 9/7. So it's only been about 9 working days. I'm a 1 day shipping lane for all carriers. I'll wait until mid next week and then send that second email.

I remember reading a thread about some dude trying to buy an e36 from them and basically it concluded that Jon is a real shyster.

FWIW, if you do spring for a refund, I think bimmerworld sells the same product for like, $40 less.

Yeah I've seen that thread, but it's like 4 years old. With so many folks running them I wouldn't think it to be an issue.

They're sort of local to me, and have done work for me in the past. From what I understand the brick and mortar is no longer in business, though I was also told Jon was planning to keep the online parts arm going.

FWIW, 6one5-3three3-91one8 is the number I have.

Dang, that's a bummer. I really like the eyeball arms he makes.

I brought tree-house bushing 2 mouths ago and shipping was pretty fast. I heard the same thing that they were going out of business.

There's another thread recently about the e30m3 shell that was the buzz for a few weeks. Not good things were said there as well.

I used to work for Jon at treehouse when he was racing in the yellow e30. I was a mechanic/fabricator. It was like pulling teeth to get a paycheck. I had to pretty much beg to get paid each week. And this was many years ago and I was only working for $8/hr. Like 2004. The actual shop is shut down currently.

To sum up, I wouldn't do business with Jon unless it was an absolute last resort, or somehow he doesn't know what it is he has (and you do).

Hope you don't get fucked on the deal.
