My dad bought this in 1994 to dd. He drove it until 2000. It sat unused for 10yrs. When I got it, it looked like this
I did an interior refresh, painted it (the failed clear is another story), suspension refresh, built an audio system from the best of other assorted BMW audio systems, and DD'd it with the M10... until it started burning oil. At this point, I pulled the M10, painted the bay, installed coilovers, and replaced the M10 with a NV M50 from a totaled e36.
These are the most recent photos, I can take some more if anyone wants to see it with a hood and exhaust (I took these after driving it out of the shop for the first time). I don't ever intend to sell it.
I have raised the coilovers up in the front slightly to help with oilpan clearance since this photo.
Lol! Maybe a little. At that time I really didn't want to sell it but he kept bugging me about it every day so I gave him a crazy number off the top of my head and without hesitation he said okay. You should of seen it back then it was just immaculate front to back you could eat off the engine and the interior was literally showroom. It only had about 68k miles when I sold it too. I'll buy it back one day.
I wont lie, it hurts a little pulling up these pix. Owned for 8 years, 2005-2013, EIGHT YEARS!!! It went from stock with body damage to all sorts of mods. I do miss it and if I had space to have kept it, I would have. Having the cabrio as its stable mate helped the healing process when I sold it.
bought it in 2009..sold in 2013 i regret selling it everyday..
even though it smelled like rat piss...lol
