    Bought a few new parts

Over the last couple of weeks, I scored a few cool pieces to "restore" the car.

I found a brand new NLA front center console at Tischer. It's so minty fresh. Click image for larger version

Bought a brand new dash. With some people asking $250 plus for a 20+ year old crack free, I decided a new one is a better deal.

Also bought a set of e21 Recaros. :). Which lead to me having to convert the interior to black.

While I was at it, I bought a new rear center console to match everything. The new dash has a different material.

Tomkinson BMW has it for $653 plus shipping.

When I bought it, there were 5 total in the states according to a stock check. So 4 left. :)

It actually smells like paint... I used some Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric paint to change the rear deck shelf from gray to black. But the new parts do smell nice. :)

When you bought the front center console did you specifically order one without the window switch holes? or is there only one version now and you just cut your own holes?

It looks like they are all this way. I got the part number for the cars with power window, it came this way. I verified the part number after I got the part thinking I might have gotten the wrong thing, but it's correct.

                      that's a steal

In all honesty, I'm really impressed that these parts are STILL available from BMW.
Back in my Volvo days, after 15-20 or so years factory parts were NLA from dealers

It must be the carpet that give you the new car smell. (maybe?)

I bet it is. Ever see an e39 or other later bmw with a cracked dash?
