the biggest known problem with E30's is the car itself. jk jk just as any 20+ year old car, needs a lot of maintenance and some love.

Known issue is kids like Tryna who keep driving the resale value up by thinning the pool.

It would be better if they thin the other "pool" and keep E30s alive;)

I advise you to stay far away from them Mr. E32 318is guy. They eat through muffler bearings pretty fast...

                          nope. no known issues.

                          welcome to the forum BTW!
I only ask because I always seem to hear about the expensive stuff AFTER I purchase. I have a Boxster with 60K and a blown engine, due to a problem everyone else already knew about.
Same with a 94 RX-7 with a blown motor. I really should research prior to buying, but haven't learned my lesson yet.

Provide some specifics on the car (year and model), and we can provide you with better info.

If it's a 325, the only major thing you'll need to worry about is ensuring the timing belt is done at the recommended intervals. That's one of the only maintenance items that won't show any signs of failure until it's too late, and cause some serious damage.

Otherwise the cars are pretty solid overall. Obviously being ~30 years old, they will require maintenance.

Sounds like you have experience with cars and blown engines... why stop the streak now?
