I keep a fire extinguisher in my m3. The thought of it possibly going up in flames makes me sick, I need to make some sort of bracket for it though.

It is mandatory here, need one to pass routine technical inspection and cops can ask you to prove you have one on the street. I have a 2kg extinguisher in the trunk with the rest of the first aid crap.My transaction feedback on r3vlimited :):Clickety click

I researched this a year or so ago when I was looking to get a bottle in my 4Runner. Look up Halguard. They're not cheap, but they're formulated to put out the types of fires you'll come across on a vehicle without damaging electronics. It's also safe to spray on yourself if you're stuck in the vehicle. I keep it bolted to the passenger side of the transmission tunnel, next to the passenger's feet. I don't have one in my E30 yet, but it's on the list.

I don't have one currently but will soon. On a side note a couple years ago my friend and I came upon a recent accident. We were there before any emergency personnel arrived and we had to get a woman out of the car which was smoking heavily. We brought her to the side of the road. Soon a single cop arrived in his squad car and he pulled out an extinguisher because the car was now starting to burn. The extinguisher ddidn't work so I told him to let me try but sure enough it failed to work and then the car was completely engulfed in flames. I guess the take away is have a WORKING extinguisher because you never know.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. -Mark Twain

I've got a 1KG one. It said CAMS approved on the box, so it would have to be the right type for automotive fires. I really need to mount it properly though. It sits under the passenger seat at the moment but my passenger is sick of it hitting their legs.Last edited by Hooffenstein HD; 11-06-2014, 06:57 PM.
