S52 Swapped Coupe... is this a good deal?

    Hey Guys,

I've owned a few E30s, and usually check around local classifieds for deals that may pop up. I decided to check out the province over.. (Yes Im Canadian and yes they're called provinces here hehe) and managed to find a rust free E30 with an S52 swap. Now I currently have a project, but my future goal was to get an S52 in.. and my chassis isnt completely rust free.

It is a 1991 318is Coupe in DiamantSchwarz Metallic, completely rust free with great paint. Racing Dynamics Rear apron, side skirts and an M TECH 2 Front valance. The big thing that caught my eye though was the S52 Swap, which he had a shop do for $7000 and many new parts installed. He has paperwork for everything done, and even a lot of paperwork from the previous owner. The car isn't 100% perfect though, with little things like No AC or heat.. Speedometer not working.. drivers side lock a little messed up. That stuff I dont really care about tbh, plus who needs a speedometer
But he did tell me that they didnt have space for a clutch fan so they added a second one with a switch on the panel, so when hes in stop n go traffic he switches it on and when hes regularly driving off (due to cold air coming through grille) I found this the only thing to be a little odd/off

Anyway, We talked back and forth a bit for a little while, and I had him settle on $7000 CAD, which is about $6200 US Dollar.

Should I take this thing and just dump/postpone my current project?

    Need opinions asap !

    Thanks yall

Sounds more complete and sorted than most swap cars
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

Well, considering I just listed most of an s52e30 swap for $3300 OBO, a running car that just needs some love and attention for $2900 more is a spiffy deal I think.

Sounds like a lot less work than your current car. If it were me, I'd be more interested to know who did the original engine swap, and how well it was done.

Yea a lot less lol, with this car Id pretty much just change the wheels, maybe suspension.
Well supposedly it was originally owned by an older gentleman who also kept all maintenance and work papers. The current owner went to a Popular BMW race shop and had the S52 swapped in, I researched the place and seems solid.. He also has all paperwork and receipts for this

doesnt sound like a bad deal at all, but I wonder why they didnt bother hooking up the heat. That could be a PITA and the speedo should be an easy fix. That said, its being sold at a loss so again I wonder. Id probably still buy it if I were in your shoes

To be honest I don't really mind no heat, only gonna be summer driving the car ! Ontario summers arent too bad either so A/C not really required either lol, and yea Im hoping speedo is an easy fix,
Just wanna confirm engine healthiness and I'll be headed to get it !
