For future reference look in to USPS regional boxes. You have to order them online, but if your package is only going a short distance it's well worth it. For reference priority mail 2 day to my SS was 11.xx and regional rate was only 7.xx.

Only the best after the fact advice. Another advantage is not having to wait in line this time of year if you use click n ship (which saves like 5-10%), just drop the package at the counter and bounce.

Decided to build something instead and got it like 90% finished but I needed to find a carbide drill bit which was nearly impossible. If I wouldn't have needed that bit it would have been on time. Plus I got shit on for finals.

That being said, Fedex ships pretty quick with their ground shipping from the midwest. Gets to most places within 3 days, and only takes 4 days for places like california or new york
