Who Performed the 1st 24v Swap

While its a random question, I just wondered if anyone knew. Someone had to be the first. So, any on know?

I mean, who could really know. Even if the first purported person posted who is to say someone else didn't do it first. I know someone who had a m62 swap in 2002 long before it was popular or had walk throughs.

I'm sure tuners (AC Schnitzer/Hartge/Etc) where the first to do it (for R&D) when the M50 first came out.

being the 24v has been out since 92ish.. well before the years of the mainstream interwebz.. it would be pretty much impossible to determine.. even now with so many people building stuff its impossible to track stuff like that down..

on a side note, i always love seing people signatures like "Worlds first 2zj swapped blue e30 coupe in the country".. who cares

Who cares and there is almost no way to for sure prove it. Usually "those guys" need the attention

I believe Pete McHenry had one as early as 1993 or thereabouts.

I remember Pete McHenry and his sons had a few swapped e30's pretty early on. About 2000-2002ish, can't quite remember. I don't know if they were the first but they sure made it popular in my eyes.

Edit: Beat me to it Fred. 1993? Dang, that was very early on.

Yeah, Stu had his swap completed in 2003.

I think it was floated on here that Pete did his first swap in 1993 or 1994 or so.

Zionsville sold the Project Orca CD. Yes. A CD with information on it.

Basically they documented a swap right? What year was that? I remember reading about it when I first got into E30's back in the early 2000's.
