What is the best year/model for e30 3-series

91 full mtech 2 with accessory hardtop. mine is a 92 770 code appearance group car which is a close second.

1988 325is with sunk diving boards and clean wheels. Hands down. I still wish I could have picked up my first E30 when it popped back up on my local CL. Fuck, I loved that thing to death. And it was by and far the fastest M20 I'd ever driven. 3 people that drove it thought it was motor swapped. It just sang.

if I was looking for an e30, I'd put the 1987 325iS, 1989 325iS and 1991 325iS at the top of my list.

I always liked the M42 more than the M20, so for me, a '91 318i/318is is on top.

IMO, the one to get is an 89 325is, followed closely by an '88 325is. 90+ E30s have airbags which knocks them down a few points in my book.

It's pretty easy to R&R an airbag wheel.

It is really all about the condition of the specific car rather than the year or model, but all else being equal, in stock spec, anything with "is" on the end.

Can't believe no one has suggested an ix yet. Specifically a 1988 325ix. Hands down the most valuable car (if you live anywhere that has snow/seasons), and it came with all the options. Don't forget those sweet sweet ix flares and basketweaves
