    What is the best year/model for e30 3-series

    Just curious what everybody recommends as the best year for the e30 3-series (m3 excluded).
    ny suggestions? Does anybody have a list of all e30 models and their years and differences?

    For me, US models, 1989 325iS then followed by 1991 318iS.

      Debatable... It depends on what you want/like.

      Although if I was looking for an e30, I'd put the 1987 325iS, 1989 325iS and 1991 325iS at the top of my list.

          I'd say the SETA '88 325e. There's a lot you can do with it as far as swaps go that cost practically nothing. You can buy them cheaper than an IS but you can do the bumper swap and e-i swap for easily less than a grand. After that you have the higher hp output of the I/IS model but have the nice beefy torque rating of the E which makes it awesome driving around town.

            IMO, the one to get is an 89 325is, followed closely by an '88 325is. 90+ E30s have airbags which knocks them down a few points in my book.

                I thought the '88 was only a 325iS with the SETA engine that already had the "i" head?
