How did you Introduce with BMW?? Story..?

or just how did you become a BMW fanatic and own a bimmer?

In my case was pretty simple, my father own (ed) his mechanic shopp when I was 3 yeard old....at 5-6 years old all the summers went to the shopp to get a oil shower below the cars... while I was growing I was getting more introduced in the world of cars...since we repair Jeep and BMW from the begining, all ,y life saw and drove bimmers, prestty simple I fall in love with this brand, appart from be a sport car, the spped and sound liked me all the time...

Now, why I choose a E30? Because when I was pretty young 11-12 years old came manys e30 325is Euros and some E30 M3 at the shopp, I drove some of those but mostly my father and well I always went in the co-pilot seat, my father testing the cars after the service...and since I like the style of these cars and most the power!!

So I said in that moment..when I become a adult or get the enough money I will buy one of these cars even if BMW produce better and nicer models in the future I will buy one of these some day... and now here I'm with my e30 and now Turbo, with lot's of problems but resolving it..

Well that's my little history...I just wanted to share my fascination for bimmer with you guys... :D

Met a girl at work and became friends, and noticed a few weeks later that she
drove a BMW. I'd always liked BMW's, but never enough to know models or
anything, I didn't even know what an E30 was. It came up a few months later
that she was selling it, and I dove right on it. Her and her Dad let me make
payments on it, after putting $2700 down. I paid $3800 total for it.

And I've been a god damn BMW junkie ever since. :D

My dad picked up a BMW at his friends junkyard. It is an 88 528e, didn't run, slight body damage. A couple of months later, it was finally on the road. It had been decided at that point, that it would be my brothers car. He drove it.. was amazed. Dad drove it, was shocked! And well.. since then, which was 2 1/2-3 years ago, my family has had more than 20 different bmws. And that crazy $100 528e is STILL on the road and running beautifully with 240k on it. The BMW disease has spread like wildfire. Everyone in my family, as well as most of our close friends, drive bimmers now.

Needed a project car to practice auto mechanic skills with. 2k invested and running and looking great. :P

parents payed 300 bucks for it.

Didnt know what the hell an E30 was all i knew is that it had this BMW roundel all over it on the hood, trunk, wheels and steering wheel and all i knew is that i migth be rolling in style in this whatchamacallit BMW.

Then researched about it and yeah i learned it was pretty much a gas saver and slow beast and yada yada but that was then and this is now whole different story now then it was back then and again yada yada.

Yes i know its run on sentence and yes i know i didnt do any punctions and yes i know its pain to read but deal with it, im tired, just got off work and dont really care. ;)

Hum I was riding with my mom as we were driving around North georgia, She spoted a red 86 528e on the side of the road, and I didn't feel like stopping but she decided to anyways. She calls the owner he comes over and we test drive the car, then my mom asks me to drive it and hse noticed how comfortable I was behind the wheel. Next day we came back and purchased it(payed to much, now I know). Get to school the next school year, and go find my friend to tell him I got a BMW to drive, and low and behold I found out he purchased an e30 that summer. Well I didn't have my License yet so he started giving me rides to school in the e30. Then one day He wrecks it on our way to school. We're all fine but the car is totaled(slid into a solid Brick mail box). So I heard about an e30 shell sitting at a shop and take a look at it and told him about it. So he goes and purchases it which was an 84 318i shell with a Bad Engine, we stuck his 325e Engine and tranny into the shell and get it running. Well my mom started to fall in love with driving the 528e and I got stuck driving here car, so I started looking and purchased an 85 318i(still have) then in a couple months got 2 325 parts cars. Then a year latter got my 88 325is for $500 at christmas, then in June got an 84 318i for $400 fixed it and sold it. I drive the 88 daily, still drive the 85 off an on and the 86 528e has been sitting in the garage for the last year refusing to start.

hmm, well I needed a new car (the '67 dart was just getting ancient, plus 8mpg is no fun), but I couldn't find anything that interested me, or that I could afford. Honestly before I got my car I never even paid attention to BMW - I'd heard of the M3, but that's about it.

Anyway, one day I was sitting in a parking lot with my friend and spotted a black E30 cabrio that was beat to hell. For some reason, it attracted me, and the wheels started churning! I figured it looked a little older, so maybe it was in my price range. Previously, I had been looking for an AWD car (getting stuck where you are parked is not fun in the winter), but there was nothing nice or reliable that I could afford (was looking at subbies, etc). Then I started searching on autotrader, and stumbled across this "4wd bmw", which was only $3k! I did some research (325ix registry, etc) and decided to got test drive it. that particular car was fucked, broken windsheild, no speedometer, bad control arms, plus it had a salvage title. Fortunately there was another one somewhat more locally, for a little more than twice as much, but it was immaculate! The first time I test drove it, I knew I was going to own it. It was *exactly* what I was looking for (features, price, looks, etc). the rest is history. :)

as it stands, I've only driven 3 bimmers in my life: two 325ix and one 318is. I don't think I'd want to drive anything else. :)

My buddy wanted my Pocketbike but didn't have $1000.00 bucks, so he offered me his 325E. I was just going to drive it back and forth to work cuz my SUV suck so much gas. but then I started seeing so much shit that can be done to make it look apart from any other E30. So I started searching the net and ebay. little by little and it getting to were I want it to be. I llike the way people look at it.

I was searching for a car after commuting to work on trains for awhile. Found a nice Porche, and then came across a 1987 325is with an awesome short shifter and suspension, already chipped with an intake and nice exhaust. Couldn't pass it up, only paid 3500. Then a year late I slid it into a guard rail on the ice. Bought another, newer e30 and about to make it a club racer.

                        My parents had 8 E30s in a row (Father 6, Mother 2). I didnt stand a chance!

It was cool having a 1990 4dr SE and a 1991 2dr Sport parked outside at the same time.

i was lookin for cars for almost a year. i had had my eye on 2nd gen mr2's, 300zx's, and corrados. bmw never crossed my mind. after finding many trashed cars in my pricerange i was getting discouraged. then one night my dad said "a friend of mines got a firetruck red 1987 bmw 325is for sale for 5000$. would you be interested?" (seeing the stupid look on my face) he said "its the 'is', its teh sport model, lethar seats, power everything, aaand its a 6 cylinder!" i was like, ahh whatever ill give it a try.

that next day i went a checked it out. my inital reaction when i saw it driving up was... to be honest. "yuck."

being a total noob ricer i was expecting sometihng a little... newer? anyway, after he showed me the braking check light and where reverse was i took it for a spin. initally, it felt weird as the pedals were pretty stiff/heavy and there was big steering wheel. but surprizingly it was pretty easy to drive. after a quick spin i really enjoyed the car. and when i let-er rip down an on ramp. i was very impressed with the feeling i got from 2nd gear. i had been used to 4 bangers with no torque and i had only driven 1 300zx non turbo so the I-6 tq machine was quite nice.

so we talked the price down to 3750 and i walked away with a fine car. thankfully i stumbled across some helpful forums or this journy might not have been so great.

It was in great condition and it was cheap. I figured it should make a nice cheap reliable car. With the desire to rid it of the ugly US bumpers I ventured on the internet.

I dunno if I would be a bimmer fanatic but I do love this car.
                            Im now E30less.
