    E30 carbon fiber ideas

    Hello,
I was looking into making something out of carbon fiber at my school. The problem is I don't know what to make. I wanted to make something for my e30 but again idk what. I don't want anything flashy (ex. hood) just something I know I made and people can recognize at car shows.

    My ideas so far (difficulty)
    - sunroof top (easy/medium)
    - steering wheel inner part not the rim (medium/hard)
    - front lip (medium?)
    - fender flares might be too flashy (hard)

and my personal favorite so far... Skid plate (easiest out of the choices)

Please tell me if you have any ideas for the e30 or just anything:mrgreen:
    Thanks

I don't think a CF skid plate is gonna do you much good...

^ my vote is for plate filler or Alpina-style rear spoiler!

I'm really liking the eyebrow and the licsense plate holder idea

I want a front splitter but I want to get mtech kits down the road. Thanks everyone for your inputs if I decide I'll let you guys know

Keep in mind, the primary advantage of carbon fibre is weight savings. So replacing a heavy object with a lighter one would be time well spent. However, since carbon fibre is 'mouldable', creating difficult shapes is a great advantage compared to welding or other types of fabrication. My vote therefore goes toward an air-box.

Same here airbox doesn't sound too difficult and since I will be making one I wouldn't mind one out of CF instead of sheet metal
