                          I know of a cheap one locally that needs some repairs anyway that would be a great base to carbon fiber

                            Why would the fitment be terrible? Flex in the carbon? You should be able to engineer that out...

                              because the sunroof is a complex shape. It's not flat, it needs ribs to keep it stiff, and if you want it functioning, that will take some work.

                              Also, if you want the seal to work properly, the fitment will have to be spot on. This isn't something a kid is going to do on his first try.

                              if all you want is a non functioning CF plug, there's lots of those available already.

                                Fair points, but the person who made the suggestion suggested 'someone' produce it, so I wasn't thinking the kid.
