Awesome.
I imagine there will come a time when we need to have special permits to drive our "dumb" cars (and limited amounts similar to historic plates), and if we want fuel we will have to order it by the barrel and store in our garage. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

While the BMW did need a wet skidpad, it seemed to keep up with the pro.
Most modern cars have had traction control that allows you to drift for a long time.
This kinda reminds me of the Google car driving around 2 blocks with closed roads and them pretending it was driving in traffic. Marketing yo.
(my brother used to work at the VW ERL who put together that Audi challenge, so naturally I have a bias against this kind of stuff)

If it did more than just a giant continuous oversteer donut, I'd be impressed. Lets see it link an entire track's worth of corners into one drift.
Really, what it did would be pretty simple. All you would need is a yaw sensor telling the car what angle it was at, then just a matter of programming to dial in throttle and steering to keep it at a certain angle. Kind of like those robots that can balance on a ball.
