"First, the 5 speeds. In the VIN ranges for the 5 speed cars, I found 40 VINs that listed the "M Technic Luxusausstattung" option (M Technic Luxury Equipment):

8 MacaoBlau. 5 had heated seats.
14 BrillantRot. Only 3 had heated seats.
18 SterlingSilber. Only 2 had heated seats.

The 5 speed VIN range from the ETK for 04/91, was EC04922-EC04979.
    The 5 speed VIN ranges from the TIS for 04/91, were: EC04910, EC04915, EC04917, EC04922-EC04976, EC04979.
    I checked these VIN ranges: EC04909-EC04910, EC04914-EC04917, EC04922-EC05046, EC05060-EC05069.

Automatics. In the VIN ranges for the automatics, I found 56 VINs that listed the "M Technic Luxusausstattung" option (M Technic Luxury Equipment):

10 MacaoBlau. 5 had heated seats.
15 BrillantRot. None had heated seats.
31 SterlingSilber. 6 had heated seats."

check out www.e30ic.com for more info and pics.

According to this site, a 5-speed MacauBlau M-technik w/ heated seats would be the rarest production e30.

M-tech 1 vert might also be fairly rare. Not as rare as the m-tech 2 cars, but still pretty cool. I've never heard of one.

333i - just over 200 built m30b32 built for South African Group A racing.
325iS and Evolution HP ... just over 1000 true ones built, M3 suspesion, M-Tech 2 kit, 2.7lt Alpina fettled motor.

        M3 Europamesiter
        M3 Sport Evo

I dont think Baur's are rare at all... every single e30 cabrio that was built in South Africa is a Baur... and they pretty damn ugly if u ask me.

Also heard something about a E30 M3 Hartge that they only built 2 of or something, think it was the H36 , but dont hold me to that

Baur 4 door cabrio is rare. Along with 2 door iX Baur cabrio.

That's a good looking car, but a black interior convertible would be too hot for this climate. That's a great site for cabrio owners, though. A non-heated seat, 5-speed, blue M-tech would be more rare, as there were only 3 instead of 5.

To my knowledge all schwartz 89+ cars had D-schwartz bumpers on them. My schwartz 91 325i has the factory bumpers on it. I know because I have had them both off and the correct vin tags were on both. And both bumpers were the D-schwartz as well. Also from what I remember when I worked at the dealer back from 1989-1995 all schwartz e30's with the plastic bumpers did have the D-schwartz bumpers as well... But keep in mind I have slept and have had more than my share of jager since then too.....

Good point, you're right. Those Baurs could be more rare, but I was thinking along the lines of factory cars, ones that rolled strait off of the assembly line. All of those Bauer iX's and Hartge M3's and the like were not factory cars.

Of course there are exceptions, almost every new car rollout has an early production as well as other oddities. I drive an August '95 1995 M3, for another example.

The fact is, the general consensus for a regular model year change is June 30th.

Hey Guys, cool thread in deed.

Allow me present my 20 September 1992 build, registered as a 93.

If you want rare the PO was in a front end accident (left fender) and the body shop sourced an entire bumper from a early (notice the square turn signals on the bumper skin) dive board and painted it and the foreskin in brilliantrot. I know it's not rare....and I'm looking to replace the bumper soonest.

I remember a while ago when i was looking through an import service website, i came across an e30 m3 that was in Japan. The different thing about it was I think it was a 1994 or 95. I am not kidding, and i think i showed it to e30trash, he might remember it also.

So of those 30 93 convertibles which one would be considered the rarest of the 30? Is there one that has something the other 30 dont???? Does it still exist?

I heard only 500 or so M3 convertible E30s were ever made and even in Europe they are hard to get a hold off. Even though right now there is one for sale on Ebay.de for buy it now 17,500 euro
