I used 5th gear when I did my wheels. Blocked the throttle to about 2500 RPM.

I got them all down to about an 1/8th inch runout.
That's a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder with a carbide wood saw blade i adapted to it. It was not a relaxing endeavor i can assure you, stress levels were very high.Lorin
