Man. I love seeing your road trip. It makes me long for my children-less years again. That shot of the Golden Gate bridge, epic. Was that sunrise or sunset? Inspiring.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

Thanks! It was sunset. Managed to time it just right and when I got there the right spot was available.

Thursday and Friday were solid days of some fairly strenuous hikes and rock scrambling into slot canyons in Capitol Reef National Park and to some amazing arches in Arches National Park. If you're in Arches, get the front side arches in early before the tour busses show up, then head to the backside, fill up two or three Nalgenes each person and do the Devils Playground to Double O Arch and Dark Angel. It's worth the half day hike and lots of rock scrambling. It was over 100F and full sun on both days, so lots of water and occasional breaks in shade. Each day getting back to the ol' E30 and running AC full blast was a real relief.

Spent July 4 in Denver. Brew and food tour. Brunch at Bull and Bush including Man Beer in fresh hops infuser, chilled at the park, then went to Biker Jim's and enjoyed some seriously gourmet hot dogs (Reindeer, Rattlesnake, Pheasant) with Great Divide DPA. We even spotted the Denver Patio Ride pedal-powered party while walking around. Great fireworks show in Aurora. Denver, stay awesome.

Car started making wobbling noise in the rear on the run into Detroit. Beat the heck out of this car on the twisties this trip. Fortunately TechShop Detroit has a lift! Bearings, half shaft, driveshaft, giubo, all bushings and mounts look good. S4.10 diff is now unlimited slip, however. :(
We decided to press on given the short distances between cities on this last leg of the trip. No chunks of metal visible outside the LSD cylinder and in the diff case, so hopefully whatever let go in the clutch pack stays inside the LSD casing and doesn't take out the R&P.
