Right around the corner from where I live there is a house that has two 1M's in the driveway, probably his and hers.

I totally agree with daily driving nice cars. Hell if I had a F40 I would DD it.

For me though, the line is crossed when a nice classic car is driven in a sea of snow and salt (winter).

Lucky man. I feel the same way as well about DDing nice cars. It's a car, designed to be driven and enjoyed. Some may be better at doing this every day but regardless it's worth it to the right people. I would love to DD an F430 Scuderia...

the conversations I have with random ppl in gas stations, parking lots, thumbs up in traffic from 18-wheelers, ranging anywhere from 16-70+yrs of age....is enjoyment enough to drive my E30 everywhere.

Great post and totally agree. I've DD'd my E30 since I bought it almost 2 1/2 years ago... Don't regret it for a second!

I need to sit in a 135 and see if I fit. I am sure I will fit better than in an e30. If I had the cash, I would definitely DD a 135i.

The 2016 Mustang gives me chub though. Frick!!!

If you've over 6 ft tall and have your body in check, you will fit. I'm 6'4" and thin and I fit well in my old coworker's 135.

I can tell you that I will get a 135i after I have dried up my fun with my E30, whenever that may be. A lot of people say that the 1 series is the 2002's spiritual successor. With that said, isn't it said the same for the E30 as well? Therefore the 1 would be the spiritual successor to the E30...? Please correct me if I am wrong.

I would say the 1 series is somewhat like the modern e30. It isn't loaded with a ton of unnecessary options and really drives nicely. With the 3.0 L in a smaller chassis it definitely has enough to be fun, while I also felt more in tune with the road compared to other new cars, like I do with the e30. I get to toss around a 2011 128i and love it. I also briefly drove a new 2015 328i and while it's nice, it wasn't a good fit for me. It's a great car for someone who wants a solid and good looking DD, but I would take a 1 series any day.

That being said, I now have to try a 2 series and see how they compare.
