ebay rules - now it ok to talk? "JORDAN"

OK ok ok ok ok ok - yea mods - (mr 325) flush it all you want - but the most talked about e30 ebay this year was Jordan putting his car up for sale...

I'm sorry, what's up will all the drama? It's a car, it's a old host - are you going to lock this thread too?

NO - you won't - cause some one need to say something about it.

For the love of god now that the ebay auction ended can we say something?

    ....

I don't even know how the auction ended...last I checked it was at $14,999. - I assume Jordan eiter pulled it or some one bought it ...

OK mods -Nothing I said broke the rules - play dair - let this thred be...

I was watching it too. It doesn't say he ended it prematurely - usually it says if they did.

Just looks like he lowered the reserve to 15 grand (just guessing, cause it was exactly at 14,999), and no one bid that extra dollar to show they were still interested.

Chances are, the highest bidder bought it or something.

The reserve was $16,500. The car did not go over $14,999 because of some sort of verification rule ebay has I guess. I don't know anything about that so I can't comment on it. The car did not sell through ebay though, apparently Jordo has a couple private offers but not too sure.

Here's the BFC thread about the sale if anyone is interested...

there is a rule on ebay that with bids $15,000 and over you need to provide a credit card number for verification, etc. So if someone verifies then its possible that they are really serious about it.

There's no way that car is worth 15k. I agree with everyone that say's it's well done. It definately is, however, it's still a twenty year old car with just a 2.8 stroker in it. It's far from stock, so it has little to no value as a collecor car, especially with a rebuilt title. As a modified car goes, its performance is mediocre compared to the dozens of s50 transplants out there. Sure it's well done cosmetically, but worth 15K? I don't think so.

Have you even kept up with the work Jordan put on that car? I mean chassis aside, every piece down to the last rubber line was replaced. That car is basically brand new off showroom floor.

I agree w/ JRowe. But it's Ebay, value is in the eye of the beholder. If I were dropping 16,5K I'd be buying a mint E30 M3, or one that has a low mileage 2.5L.

I dunno about 2.5Ls and mint e30 m3s... but definetly one in good condition.

I've followed the car, and, as I mentioned, it's nice. Unfortunately, the time and money one puts into a car does not determine its value. The market does. For 15k, there are dozens of other cars I would rather have. Just my opinion. Ultimately, his car is worth whatever he can get someone to pay for it.

Yeah, I saw a pretty mint S52 OBD-1 on s14.net going for around 17K. And with a M3, it already has "side skirts" and a "rear apron" ;)

                        EDIT: actually 18.5K

I really like his car, I like what he did to it and his attention to detail borders on fanatical, that said I would not want a dd that had no ac, stereo, cc etc.

I think the car is worth whetever someone is willing to pay, I would not pay 15k for a car I wold not be able to drive comfortably, hell I need my AC on when it is not that hot.

I've removed my A/C - call my crazy, but I never use it anyways. I love having my windows and sunroof open.

                            AC is for pussies.

Or for business men in suites. Hopefully, by then, I'll have a brand new car to use a daily. LOL

If your location of Rapid City SD is right it's no wonder you don't use A/C. A quick check shows that your average high temperature in August is only 86*F. That kind of temperature here in August would have people panicking and screaming of an approaching ice age. Usually between the end of May and the end of September temperatures hover around the mid-90s, and in August it's usually over 100 :firehop:
