So back to the original post, if you go to a shop and the put your car in the air it is the techs responsability to drive it after the work is finished. If it was shaking that badly, you should have brought it back and explained the problem. You know your car, why wouldn't you go back and have them mount the rims correctly. Better yet why are you relying on a tire shop to do the job correctly???? Order from the rack, and take your car or rims to a good independant who cares and understands the cars. If you are too cheap or busy, then it's your problem not ours.
Idiots at tire stores SUCK!

It would if you were running spacers that werent hubcentric, which is what i was getting at...Originally posted by StereoInstaller1No, they are Niche, hubcentric, lugcentric AND correct offset...made for the E30 specifically. No hub centering ring necessary. Only 4 sets ever made it to the US. Rare and not to most peoples taste, but they are a perfect fit.
BTW, Mr. Tire Jockey, offset would have nothing to do with a poor mounting making the car shake, right?
I'm no artist but you must be as good at wrenching as you are at spelling if you are in your 60s and you are still driving around in a beat e30 with shot tires. Doesn't AARP have some sort of discount for tires?Originally posted by StereoInstaller1As far as your "turtning wrenches" around my complaining ass...you might want to check my resume. I would bet I have been "wrenching" longer than you have been "breathing", since you are a collage kid.

He is in his 40's and some of us choose to drive e30's AND have other (many) vehicles as well. Is it necessary for you do be so unpleasant?
Should we make issue of your many spelling errors?
I think you need to buy several vowels!

Well I for one would vote not to ban Parker. He is a fellow vert owner and an obvious enthusiast who cares about his e30 vert. When he experiences an event in which a "tire jockey" causes potential detriment to his vehicle and voices it in a thread that is specifically created to air any experiences about tires and rims being mis-handled then it seems to be appropriate.Originally posted by gazellebeigem3are you one to talk? You have chosen to take some of the thread posters thoughts and feelings personally and fight back rather than accepting that in general there are an abundance of negative issues that could be better handled by the tire and rim professionals at the majority of tire and wheel shops.
Since this is the case generally (as noted by the posts within this thread as well as others) then a "generalization" often occurs. Dont be surprised by this and try and realize that if you are a tire and wheel technican that is precise, accurate, and makes sure that when working on a customers car then it is treated as if its is ones own vehicle then you are doing an exemplary job. Please state honestly how many customers vehicles that you have serviced and also the compalints or mishaps that you have directly or indirectly caused so that we can be the judge of your competence.

Want to call me names and to choke down an arthritic boner! Bring it on so I can truly laugh out loud at the effort that people put into insulting others.
Want to fight over the internet by posting things that inflame the topics and seemingly provoke others. That would be great, but quite mundane, trite, and not to creative an approach.
Want to make threats to me about leaving my lugnuts untourqed like you did to Parker. Please , please do so that all of us can remember what type of forum member you are. Making multiple threats against members is a sure fire way to get yourself banned. Not by popular opinion (allthough I would bet most would vote to ban you and not Parker) but by the moderators of the site.
In short, if you are young, employed at a job that you truly enjoy and have a life that you find fulfilling as well as having other interests in your life that bring you happiness then savor it because it is all too often that you grow older and become more hateful and resentful of just everybody and everything.
P.S. You nor any other tire and wheel technican will ever be able to leave my lugnuts with a torque that is less than 74 lbs per square inch and checked and retourqed after 500 miles. I take all my rim and tire mounting in to a shop with them off the car - stand right next to the person that unmounts and remounts my tire choices -THAT I MAKE - then walk over to the spin balance machine with the technician and watch as they do a static balance and place the rim weights on the inside of the rim only (athstetic balance). Then I have the tech pull the rim off - turn it and replace on the machine retightening it with the spin on adapter- run the whole balance process again to check his work. This is done x 4 and afterwards I place a $10.00 or sometimes a $20.00 bill in his hand. Roll my rims and tires out to a truck , cover them with cotton covers and then take them back and install each one by hand -using a tourque wrench during the final tightening stage.
Why do I do this. I enjoy doing things the right way when it comes to something I care about.

Actually TJ I do. I bought a Baur last week. It is in L.A. and I am here so no pictures/info until I am actually there.
What does owning anything have to do with the fact that so many here (and everywhere for that matter) are so quick to lash out and attack? Look at the posts in this thread, he is acting like he is being personally asked to pay for the mistakes of people in his "profession"
Thanks for the kind words e30vert. I appreciate it.Last edited by parkerbink; 06-16-2006, 11:48 AM.

Well YES HE DOES as stated above! Even if he did not at this moment in time he is still an enthusiast and has owned one in the past which is tantamount to still owning one and cherishing it.
BTW, gazellebeigem3 telling me that you will not read a statement that I made because its too long leads me to believe that you actually have already read through it.
Just because you believe that brevity is much better to get your point across dont try and convince others of that. Usually people are brief because they are lazy.

Because its fun! [edit: yes i do think brevity is key. If you want to be verbose and talk yourself in circles, by all means, do so. I wont read it though. ;)]

Maybe you need to tell gazell what brevety means, but keep it short. lol

Fair enough. It is probably too much information that may have a rational well thought out point contained within it. So your right. Please disregard. Its a more common response than you might expect.
Since you appear to like short and to the point statements then the short word for your response is -"denial"
