    Dynod my 325IS

Okay, my friend bought a dyno shop in Gardena, CA. and we were dynoing my car a few hours ago.

    This is what we got.

    146whp w/ air filter.
    151whp w/o air filter.

I hope thats some solid power.

We didnt have the printer setup for the print out.

    Mmm, 1jz swap? Haha.
My drinking team, has a racing problem.

      Simple math.

      15% drivetrain loss
      146hp X 1.15 = 167.9 hp
      151hp X 1.15 = 173 hp

      17% drivetrain loss
      146hp X 1.17 = 170.82 hp
      151hp X 1.17 = 176.67 hp

Sounds like a powerful M20 - how many miles?

Yeah, I think those are strong numbers. Do you have leakdown/compression information?

I'm hella stupid when it comes to the names of dynos, but I think it was Dynojet? The one with the rollers, and the straps. My car has 150k~ miles. I still need to do a comp. test. I has gotten this one only a month ago.

                Yes. I'm not THAT stupid.

BTW, whats the governer set at? We were doing a top speed test, and my friend hit 135~ before he let off.

                  Why?

There are other types of Dynos that don't use rollers and straps.......

the governer is your cars brick shaped aerodynamics. in other words, there isn't one.

nice #s. maybe someday budget beater will make as much power as a stock M20 ;)

No governer? My black one, in my signature, had a cap at 123~ mph. Thats really werid. Fourth and Fifth gear would be governed at that speed reguardless at revs. The fuel would be cut off. And my thrid gear (no joke, unless the tach was off. But my friend was saying he was going same speed as me in his WRX.) Would hit 115 MPH. Alot of people were saying that my Tach was off, but that dosen't explain the fuel cutoff. Any ideas?

I think he was refering to the way I was describing it. But I didn't realize that he thought there was only one type of dyno. lol

I believe 1990 and 1991 cars were limited around 125mph. Its totally possible that it is really 115mph as well because the speedo will be off a little bit. I thought our's always read a little high.

Huh, the one that I dynoed was a '90 model. Maybe it was freereving because it detected that the front wheels wern't turning? The ABS light WAS on, for obivious reasons.

Decent numbers, although comparing different dyno numbers from different dynos from different days from different cars is really an apples to oranges comparison.

Dynos are more of a motor tuning tool than a performance measure.
