M20 numbers have no bearing on an M10 turbo whatsoever. The 10psi M10 is impressive but its more than just slapping on a turbo with 8psi, which I seriously doubt would net over 200hp.

While everyone automatically jumps on throwing in a turbo, just because F&F3 is inspiring everyone to go and pull fat drifts with a very expensive show car, real drifting is about skill.
Brakes are more important than power, I think a stock suspension 318 could really get sideways with some wild steering and good weight transfer.
Or waste a whole bunch of money building an unreliable car that still can't drift, when its the driver.
(Not attacking you, just a somewhat sensible post now that drifting is the most important thing in the world)

I understand all that, its just that when I'm driving around town, I'll miss the power. It'll take me a while to be able to turbocharge it correctly anyway, so in that time I'll learn how to drift with the horribly underpowered M10. It's actually much better to learn in an underpowered car because it teaches you to be able to drift the right way- with weight transfer. You really can't power over in an AE86 or an M10, so you have to feint or (if you've got the balls) dynamic drift.
I don't want the turbo for drifting, I want it more for the daily driving aspect of the car.
EDIT: Please don't think I'm just drifting because of that god forsaken movie. I've been into drifting since late 2002, and I've been actually doing it for about a year.

Oh noes!
Otis, come out swinging! Otis is the little gay greek guy down in Florida with a turbo 2.1L M10 that has 330rwhp. All the work done himself, megasquirt 2, and some ginormous turbo.
Video, its FAST!
Oh yeah, no nitrous used in video, makes the clutch slip

With the 318i,like everyone said, for more power slap a turbo. I've never drove a m10 so i dont know how under powered it is. But maybe weight transfer would help you. Also try kicking the clutching lately? ;)-Frank
