Just boost or "i" head + boost?

My long term goal for my new e30 with a 2.7 is to turbo it, raise it a bit and make it the original tan on blue. I've decided to part my old car and I traded a friend some weaves for a good condition i head and a polished intake, and since I'm parting the 89 I will have all the other parts I need for the cooling system and what not. Would it be better to do a complete rehaul of the 2.7 with new pistons rods bearings etc and the head swap to prepare the engine for boost and to make more power or just boost the 2.7 with a pnp ecu and some headstuds, and injectors at like 8 psi?

well, obviously the built engine will make more power and last longer. it depends on what you want to spend.

if it's not your DD, start with the eta as-is and use it to learn. you can always build a new motor on the side, so if the eta goes you can just swap it over..

agreed- from experience, don't throw a ton of money into the first engine you boost...
