You think? It seems like it's not a lottery but a bidding system to buy it, I don't think there is too much 'luck' involved.

I think it will probably go for more than I'd pay for a rather pedestrian '84 325e

It's a great starting point for a clean reliable daily or even show car.

What I was getting at... Was that the buyer is lucky in the sense that that sort of car, in the condition is moderately hard to find. It probably will go for a whole load more than what most people would want to pay, but I suppose if one intends on keeping it forever why not..

That iX touring is sweet! :)

No matter how clean it is... plastic and rubber deteriorate.... and like all cars of this age would still need work I'd say.

Things that leap out at me are the 11 year old timing belt (just like the low mileage eta I just bought from its original owner) and I don't think any ETA came with leather sport seats let alone an 84.

As far as I know all the 84 ETA cars had the Sport interior... And 16 button OBC.

The car looks super clean. Look at the damned diving boards on it. They're not all oxidized like you typically see on these cars. I'm sure someone will be very happy with it.

I could be mistaken but Im doubtful that this was the case. Im not even sure if anything had sport seats in 84.

You're mistaken. My 85 eta (ES wasn't available until 86/87) came with black leather sport seats as well as a sport shifter and 3 spoke sport wheel. Was designated as "M Sport package with spoiler delete" on original sticker.

Sport seats were available in 84.

This thing is SO clean. Much love.
