    Throwback Thursday: 99 Cobra

Bought this car in 2005 from a one owner guy. Something like 49K on the ticker. I sold it with 90K. Did a lot of things to it. Including backing into a 4Runner. Car was sold 8 years ago.

No reason to post except I saw it in my photobucket.

Oh heavens yes! Donuts every day.

I think it was 305 hp. It had a BBK throttle body and a SuperChips tune on it. I took the SuperChips tune off because it was an early one and really not very good. The best mod was the 4.10 LSD out back. Far and above the best thing for that car. Stock was 3.27 LSD. Best I ran was a 14.1 at 106 with the 3.27s in there. Fun car.

ahhh yes, the elusive "320bhp" motor that never made it... have you ever seen a 2000 cobra? nope because they halted production to make sure the 2001 actually made 320

            I still like Fords though

Very true! That was the figure! 320.

              Still trapped well though.

I was running 14 flats in my mk2 gti vr6 around the same time. I loved messing with the muscle cars who thought their cars were the fastest thing out

                This was also in 05

red mirrors were from the donor car, my old wrecked 95 gti vr6 which donated everything

My brother has a 2004 SVT Cobra 10th anniversary edition. I'm not really into Mustangs but this thing is stupid fast, he says it has 550 hp or something (he put an updated supercharger in it). It reminds me of the whole 2000s Fast and Furious era lol, but you won't be laughing when you're a passenger in it..

I had this little gem. Bought it for $400, from the dealer I was working at. I loved this little thing. I wish I didnt sell it, but it was time. Had some frame issues that I could have fixed, now that I look back at it. 5spd no A/C.

They are no joke. Even the stock motor with a smaller supercharger pulley and a tune were good for low 500s. Very fast cars.

I bought a 99 Cobra vert for the wife after I wrecked our 08 Shelby GT. It was white/peanut butter like yours but had big polished torque thrust m's and we changed the top to white. I really liked the little 4.6,it was eager and happy to rev. I hated the seats and the weak chassis, especially in front, you could feel the shock towers move as you went through corners, it didn't inspire very much confidence.

Yep! It was a very eager motor. Seats were terrible indeed. I upgraded the rear end with full delrin bushings and aluminum diff bushings (horrible idea). Once I did that, the whole car was fighting itself. A strut tower brace and subframe connectors would have been mandatory if I had kept the car. Most domestic stuff is just so loose, its frustrating.

                            Thanks for sharing!
