Yea. Must be why I thought it wasn't an M3. Weird.

Absolutely love the color. Never seen one this color in person. Take good care of her and be sure to get her running in tip top shape!

          cool

Byzanz is like hennarot.....you either love it or hate it.

I'd be interested in how that 5 speed swap goes. I heard because of the EWS they are a pain and usually the CEL is on for those that improvise.

And I f00kin love it! As for the swap, I most likely will not do it on this car, I feel like as a comfortable daily-able M3, it's literally as good as it gets but I will buy another one that's been driven and isn't as clean that I'd have no problem beating on more

                Nice

If and when you get ready to do the swap on another car, get the detents and 1 gear issue sorted, if it hasn't been done already.

There were 2 recalls on these transmissions. The 5th gear lean being the most infamous. You can live with them both but better to repair them when its off the car.

Wait there was a recall for the 5th gear lean issue?

Re: the Byzanz color....I did some Googling. Various speculation about the number of these made. What I did find out it was offered in 1997 only. As for as the number with the color, best guesses seem to be around 200 tops. About 1/4 of them came with a manual. So if anyone finds a Byzanz E36 with a factory manual gearbox.....buy it!

Yeah I found out it was 1997 sedan lux package cars only and only US market. Even less with the champagne interior, even less less with the brown carpet.

Byzanz is not an Individual color. It is definitely a unique and an uncommon color, but I wouldn't call it a desirable color.

I think he means individual as in only these cars specifically were offered with it
