What new-ish car should i buy?

    Don't worry, I'm keeping my e30.
I am, however, selling my e46. My budget is ~20k. So far my top choices are mk6 gti or brz. Looking for a reliable car, stick shift, less than 50k miles. Turbo is a plus. If u get the gti I plan on upgrading the turbo and getting an lsd. If I get a brz, I plan to turbo it. Any suggestions?

CPO E90 335i will blow away a GTI or BRZ. $20k is a healthy enough budget to find one with low miles & maintenance records + warranty.

How reliable are the 2007 models? I found a few in good condition with around 75k miles that fit my budget. Really only looking at manual cars so that really narrows my search. I found a black, red interior 2007 335i for 15k on my local craigslist.

        You'll want an 09+ (facelift/LCI).

How about a WRX Hatchback? I haven't heard anything bad about them.

Why the 09 and up e90's? What's different about them?
I haven't been able to find any well priced wrx's so far.

I don't really think that matters. actually, I don't really like the LCI cars that much - the only real improvement was Idrive, which I would never want anyway.

They have different lights (LED turn signals, wooo) and a different grille/hood. Not really night and day or anything.

If you are in fact going the e90/e92 route Id def go with a 335i. And if you are going sedan def get a LCI. LCI for the sedans started in 2009, other than looks and them working a few kinks out if the n54 there is no difference. Like others have said you can find low mile, CPO e90 sedans in abundance for good prices.

Focus St would be my choice. Can get a solid CPO or even close to a knew 1 for that price. Shoot I sold one last week for 20500 plus fees.

So far 335I is in the lead. I need a more practical daily than an s2k

If I had your budget, I'd go for an E46 M3 but seeing how you're coming from an E46 I assume you'd want something different. I agree with those who say get an E90 335i.

For DD and 20k, I'd go Focus ST and rock the warranty.
