    what are these headgasket parts?

    Hi all,
Hopefully my last head gasket question. Head is off and in the shop getting resurfaced. I got the BMW kit from pellican parts. It came with all these gaskets, o rings, etc that I don't recognize. What parts are these specific things supposed to go to? There were not any of these from all the parts I pulled getting to the head. (except I assume the smaller o rings go to the oil drain tube) But I don't know where all these others go. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you dont throw #10 at homeless people, you can use it to seal the cam seal housing to the head.

Thanks everyone for the help. Wish I would have gotten the CAM seals put on, but the head is already back in place. I don't think it was leaking from any of those so hopefully it's OK.

I can't replace those with the head in place right? Don't want to pull it again and get all new bolts and gasket, especially since I went with OEM and paid more.

yes you can do it with the head in place. you have to remove the timing belt & pulley though. the cam seal housing comes out with two M10 bolts IIRC.

If you are creative you can even replace the valve seals without removing the head again.

Actually, that's a common way to do it in repair shops. Force air into the cylinder (just adapt an air connection to a brass fitting adapter with the same thread pitch as a spark plug, and hook up your compressor.) Then rotate the adjustment cam out of the way (or remove it entirely, pull the retainer an push the rocker out of the way. Then use an overhead spring compressor to remove the retainer, and swap out the seals...
