Nice car OP - sorry to hear about your incident the other night. The damage sucks but at least it was minimal. Definitely could've been worse.
As for drivers/traffic in Sacto....it really has been going down hill here for some time now. I'm a life long resident here (I'm 45 now) and I've really noticed a decline in road discipline and an increase in traffic congestion during the last 10-15 years. The aging road infrastructure is not designed to handle the volume we have now....sprawl of suburbia really contributed to this. I can recall whole areas of the outlying communities that had lots of open space - now there's tightly clustered houses in every direction. The only time freeways around here are great is if its Saturday or Sunday around 7:00am. At this hour the drunks have finally gotten home (or are in the drunk tank or the morgue) while the rest of the folks are still sleeping in.
The commodity of time is far too valuable to be dealing with this roadway bullshit. That's why I bought a house 3 miles from the office ;D

Shut your mouth Simon or I swear I'll come back down to SoCal and treat you to a nice steak dinner and a run through Carbon Canyon
If things go well I'll even let you hold my hand as we caress each other's hair and I might even feel ready to let you kiss me on the cheekLast edited by JinormusJ; 11-04-2015, 09:18 AM.Comment

This is why we can't have nice things, because horrible drivers and simply, horrible people are everywhere. I wish people actually followed lane laws and would get over for faster moving traffic in this country, the sense of entitlement is nuts. That isn't just driving, but still. A takeover of public access radio and tv should seriously be thought about, just to explain slower traffic should move to the right. If even 30% changed their habits, good god, that would be amazing.
You basically have to act as a motorcycle driver when people have a stick rammed up their ass, even if you're driving a car - albeit simply a nicer car because people are morons.
These are just some of the reasons why a friend from Germany moved back home, after 10 years here he couldn't take it anymore - and honestly where you live sounds far worse than me, but it's everywhere here. Worse traffic I've ever seen was in Korea town near Los Angeles, it's all relative. Overpopulation for areas that were designed to have significantly less traffic has a lot to do with it too. I like California, but would never live there. Metro Phoenix is getting bad, people need to stop coming here (growth has slowed) but I'll still need some off grid acreage somewhere else remote.
Reminds me when I had my M Coupe, nobody realized it was a 99 and cost the same as their new loaded compact. Hell, just the other day a friend brought it up, after not owning it for a very long time. "How did you afford your BMW?" Uh, I have one, it wasn't expensive and my last few were cheap dude... oh you mean the blue one? Yeah, in relation to other cars it wasn't expensive either. People see the badge and instantly judge you, this has happened for a very long time and won't change.
You make it sound way more intriguing than it really was by saying it like that.
I'm not one to instigate road rage, but I would have said, "No, I'm just better."
Make her head spin so it hits her in her soul. Or better because I'm not a kuhnt. Or something.Last edited by DEV0 E30; 11-04-2015, 09:53 AM.Comment

I just experienced this sensation first hand.Reminds me when I had my M Coupe, nobody realized it was a 99 and cost the same as their new loaded compact. Hell, just the other day a friend brought it up, after not owning it for a very long time. "How did you afford your BMW?" Uh, I have one, it wasn't expensive and my last few were cheap dude... oh you mean the blue one? Yeah, in relation to other cars it wasn't expensive either
The first thing everyone asked me when they saw my new car after a night out was of course: "Dude, Bro, Man, how much did you get it for??". I told them to guess first and mostly everyone said at least over $10k; some $12k, even got one $13k
They were shocked when I told them I paid close to only a quarter of that price
Why people still drive soul sucking brand new econoboxes when cheap, reliable, and quick used luxury cars are available for less than half the price still boggles me man :weak:Comment
