Couple of things though. Mine is an 87 and it is currently getting an M62 with 6MT swap, new paint job, wheels, suspension, etc.

Probably my current e30, just running properly and painted nicely...

Lachs 2 door IX with a cardinal interior.

And my turbo kit installed, instead of just attached to a spare head in the basement.

This example isnt one of the orginal 62. A good deal of the parts on this one arent correct but there is some rare stuff there.

Stock bodied (ecept for late model tail lights) early euro model with manual everything. Semi stripped interior, big brakes, 5 lug, built Differential, reinforced EVERYTHING. Not really sure what I'd want the powerplant to be. Either turbo m30, Built N/A cammed s54 or an LS. But probably s54.... Simple, reliable and true to BMW.

I believe what makes an e30 fun is lack of grip. Makes things interesting at lower speeds. You can have fun in daily street driving.

#1. I like the higher arches and rear valence on early models but I hate the small tail lights.

#2. I believe you could definently make an s54 e30 reliable enough to DD. Especially with a good aftermarket ecu, vanos delete and aftermarket internals stock compression ratio... Can't be more unreliable than a turbo car. Also keep in mind I'm a car guy, not a basic white btch. I'm regularly under the hood.

I do suppose simple is a stretch lol, but its a lot less complicated than a some options.

Why would youwant to delete the vanos? Why not just hook everything up stock with a stock ecu and just delete ews and a few smog features?

I wouldn't call an S54 unreliable at all. Over complicated? Perhaps. Luckily, there are lots of people who know how to crack the stock DME and can get rid of most of that stuff.

                                Option 1:
Run of the mill M3 with a nicely built 2.7 stroker, dogleg box, sport evo clone bodywork/interior with 18" BBS CH's or BBS E50's. Some sort of half decent coilover setup, but nothing obnoxious. Cheaper than a sport evo, and I wouldn't feel bad about driving it.

                                Option 2:
Early euro slicktop shell, 3.1L M20, Schrick 288 + HD rockers or RHD roller setup, +1mm intake, 10.x:1 comp, RHD ITBs, big carbon airbox, massive booster delete, no abs, etc. full interior but sound deadening gutted and moderate weight savings here and there.

                                Option 3:
clean fully optioned 4dr iX with a swap and beefed up driveline for winter duty.
