Red light beside trunk button (touring)

Anyone know what this light is?

I don't know when it blinks, although I saw it blink once after I unlocked the car.

Probably an infrared sensor for a dated alarm. Those were popular in the 80's

That makes sense. I just haven't found any other signs of an alarm. I thought it may have something to do with the trailer wiring
