This is why I don't drive behind cargo trucks..

I visit liveleak alot, and have developed a ridiculous sense of awareness.
I also avoid trucks for the most part. I NEVER linger at their side. Being aware of my surroundings has helped me a few times, one in particular would have been a 4x8 or so foot board on top of my car. Idiots don't care enough to secure their load.
Reminds me of a video I wish I could unsee. It involves a truck, a car, a couple, and a brick. I won't link or search it out, and you have been warned.
There's a whole lot of crazy ways to die out there. Every day above ground is an accomplishment in itself. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that. -
Wow - that is just insane. The driver is beyond lucky to be alive.
Situational awareness is so important these days when driving. Between the flying debris, distracted drivers, and just plain recklessness (see YouTube for dash cam videos), you really need to keep your eyes peeled when driving. There's just too much that can wrong out there at any given moment.

To be fair, it wasn't a beam. It was a thin ramp. If you look closely, the windshield is actually bending it where it goes through.
Still crazy though! Reminds me of this:

I looked it up as well. It's amazing the brick had enough force to go through the windshield and hit with enough force to kill someone. I've thrown fist size rocks at a parts car windshield and barely chipped the glass on the inside. Safety glass is tough!Comment

I saw that video a year or so ago and think about it often. You can hear her talking before it happens. Eh.
I can remember being about 12 on i95 and my father changing lanes, by chance, 1 second before a dresser fell off a truck and took out the car that had been behind us.Comment

I don't go near them either. Pass asap. I don't hate anyone on the road more than the guy who won't speed up so we can both pass the semi truck. My friend's brother was driving along a semi with his mom and somehow one of the truck's wheels came off and slammed through his windshield into his head. His mom was reclining in the seat after a long day so she was fine. Once she got the car on the side of the road she was trying to put his face back together. He was a nice guy, too. Had a red S14.
I heard from my ex's aunt who is a truck driver that any driver with a plain white trailer is an independent and has less drug tests so is more likely to be on some sort of meth. So that's a fun tidbit

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheelsComment
