    Nice seats tho.
Don't worry, we have all bases covered. I was fully transparent with this car. It's surprisingly solid, with a lot of good things going for it. Will it ever be a concours car? Never. Will it be an absolutely fun and handsome car as we clean her up and get her back to stock aesthetics? No doubt about it.

Every day we chip away at it and fix the little things. We already have donor floor pans, and those will go in soon. We are sourcing a good interior and cleaning up the engine bay of loose wiring from a previous stereo system install.

In the engine's current configuration, it pulls very hard. That 38/38 mated to the higher compression tii block/pistons and the e12 head has a really nice balance of power. I'd be confident to say that as it is now, it will give a tii a run for it's money, and very likely beat it...not that these cars are very fast to begin with, but the torque comes on very strong with this one. I was pleasantly surprised.

This is a good car. It's perfect for what Brad was looking for. I live around the corner so you bet I'll make sure it's done correctly.

Look for a leaky heater box or obviously a drainage issue. If the floor pans are gone a screw driver prod test of the frame rails wouldn't hurt. If it goes through, replace/repair the rails. New pans can be had from W and N for pretty cheap. Rocker panels too.

Looks like a project! They all are.

You need to look very carefully at those wheels, the Lancia used a 4X98mm bolt pattern and the BMW is a 4x100mm pattern. The Lancia wheels will fit over the studs but they will not be centered and the lug nuts will not seat properly and you can easily break studs.

Funny that you mention that. As of now, those wheels have been mounted to the car and ran in its current configuration for over 4 years. I drove the car over 90mph and no one died, so that's a good sign.

OK just an FYI. I saw a number of people in the 70's put the FIAT 124 alloy wheels on 2002's thinking they were the "factory" 2002 alloy and in the process of "Over torqueing" the wheels broke studs.

went to triple A yesterday to put the title in my name but unfortunately since it's salvage title and title was never updated to it, i have to go to the dmv and fill out some sort of paper work and have them update the title to salvage before i can go back to triple A. they also said i will need a brake and light inspection. kind of a bummer since i will be held back more but what can you do, i hope it all gets figured out! -
on another note, when im driving it around and shift gears, it likes to puff out some smoke. i've been told to first check the spark plugs to see if its either running rich or lean. my first thought was that it could be excessive blow by and i would be needing to do piston rings but it's not a blueish tint to the smoke at all, it's just white smoke. will pull the plugs this morning before i head out and see if i can detect anything from that, planning on doing a full tune up anyways but i want to get this title squared away first.
                  Happy Wednesday folks!

Pulled spark plugs today and I took a picture of 1 and 2. It's certain to say it's burning oil and I'm thinking maybe that's what would be causing the smoke coming out the tail pipes when I'm shifting gears. New plugs will be ordered this week forsure and they will not be ngk.

Been chipping away at this ol gal, can't thank Ryan enough for all the help and throwing me a bunch of parts. I started ripping out all the old tar insulation mats on the floor pans and will be getting the rust spots welded in with some new sheet metal in the next few weeks. Always forget to take pictures of what it looked liked before and what it looked like after since my phone is always hooked up to the aux cord playing music in the garage while I jam away but here's a few.
Correct steering wheel and valve cover will be going on since Ryan gave me the 3 spoke for my car and the valve cover. Still need to figure out what to do with this rear parcel shelf. The PO had some big speakers in it which I ripped out and want to get a new backing without the holes and re wrap and delete the speakers. Carpet kit and back seat delete will be going down shortly as well. Also picked this up today for the 02.
